Flower Mound is aging. An estimated 6,000 residents are 60 or older. Census Bureau figures indicate that the percentage of seniors in the town’s population has doubled in the last decade. And every year, every one of us gets another year older.
To help make the area attractive for retirees, Flower Mound runs a free program called Seniors in Motion, which operates out of a 2,028-square-foot room at the Community Activities Center. The 600 members enjoy dances, field trips, card games, exercise, crafts and other activities that keep them healthy of mind and body. SIM also coordinates senior volunteers for local hospitals, the local schools’ Rockin’ Reader program, and other worthy services.
SIM Auxiliary Inc. is honored to accept tax-deductible donations to support Seniors in Motion and an eventual standalone senior center in Flower Mound.
We believe that by helping keep seniors active and connected, we are making friends, promoting volunteerism and building a strong community and strong families.
Please note that Flower Mound’s Seniors in Motion program is free. Donations to and membership in SIM Auxiliary Inc. are voluntary.
